Walgreens Village MD To Exit Florida Market

Village MD primary and urgent care chain, majority owned by Walgreens Boot Alliance (Chicago), announced plans to close approximately 40 clinics in Florida and exit the market by March 15, according to the website beckershospitalreview.com.

The move is part of Walgreens’ plan to cut at least $1 billion in costs, according to the article.

The news comes after VillageMD announced in December that it would close 12 clinics in Indiana and exit the market.

VillageMD operates 51 clinics in Florida, 14 of which are currently closed.
